Verus International was formed in early 2000 by Ajmal Khan and Citigroup with the objective of forming a privately owned merchant bank that would act as both principal and advisor to its portfolio companies. Mr. Khan, Citigroup and members of our advisory board had previously worked together on numerous early to mid-stage technology companies in the late 1990’s. The disparities in valuations and technologies in various markets and regions around the globe offered an opportunity to conduct merchant banking activities through a hands-on approach, and by taking advantage of Verus’ global distribution network. Verus International was created to execute this vision with a select group of strategic partners.
Verus executes opportunistic merchant banking transactions as lead investor and strategic/financial advisor with a focus on value enhancement. The Verus team consists of seasoned professionals with varied and complimentary expertise that add significant value to the portfolio companies on an operating, strategic, financial, distribution, and global perspective. We seek companies at inflection points that require these elements to enhance value and reach the next stages of the corporate lifecycle. As we spend considerable resources and time with each of our investments, we select a limited number of opportunities per year. |
